AWA (Amalgamated Wireless Australia) was an Australian icon company. The AWA radio tower was the tallest structure in Sydney until the late 1950's.They made almost everything from televisions to home phones, Two-way radios to micro electronics, yes Australia made electronic components for all sorts of applications as well as the electron valve. It only made sense that they should get into CB radio. Well this was their AM Marine 27Mhz base, with built in SWR meter and PA facility, quite an impressive looking radio which looked really good as a standalone unit. Not all that common today. |
