The Midland 79-265 was probably one of the last Midland AM/SSB radios to be sold in Australia in any great number. Distributed by Wagner Electrical Industries of Sydney, they did resemble another AM/SSB radio of the time, but with one big difference, a sizable finned aluminium heat sink on the rear panel and a burnt orange channel display. The heatsink would have been fitted on request from Midland to increase the reliability of the radio. Today they are rarely seen and are increasingly expensive when they come up for sale. |
