Description:
The Ranger RCI2950 came hot on the heels of the President HR2510. Classed as a 10 metre Amateur Radio, it could be modified to cover more than the 10 metre band. Internally there were two versions.  Two versions of the CPU were used, this also varied the procedure for band expansion, which the manufacturer had designed into the radio. The modification was easy and involved the changing of links inside the radio. Depending on the radio version, it would increase the coverage and give the radio a 26 to 32MHz range. Some realignment maybe needed to cover the new bands. An interesting note was that you could now listen to older analog cordless phones. And even though it could operate on the CB band, it is totally illegal to use. Your biggest problem will be finding one in good untouched condition.
