Description:
In the Sawtron tradition, another commercial Two-Way radio reconfigured for UHF CB. A diecast aluminium case with weather seals all round made sure it could stand up to anything. Selectable 1 or 5 watt output, 600 or an optional 1000 mAh batteries, heavy duty belt holster and weather proof speaker microphone. All quality accessories. It also had a simple scan function, which would only scan all the channels. Oddly the 109 was fitted with 56 channels. This came about due to the lack of a Duplex button. With no Duplex function, the repeater and reverse repeater channels were just programmed into channels above 40. So if you wanted to use say channel 8 repeater, you selected channel 48. # An interesting feature of the KG109 is that you could reprogram the Eprom inside the unit for additional channels if needed ( the new 80 channels come to mind, with some adjustment needed ). Recommended Retail new in 1989, $1170 with no accessories or even a battery charger. Ouch.
