The UH-054A Aquamax as it was called, was classed as waterproof radio. Not something you would throw in the ocean for a day and expect to get back working, but the specifications said, " waterproof for 30 minutes at 30 cm ". Not deep, but if you dropped it in the surf, at least you could rescue it.
