Release in 1979 this was the first of two identical looking AM/SSB base stations to be marketed by Tandy Australia. Even though this radio looked the same as the later TRC-490, the electronics were total different. A solid performer, favored by the home experimenter for channel and other modifications. A great radio for reliable communications.
