I guess you could call this the deluxe AM radio of the XTAL range. Fitted with a unique scan feature. Not as we know scanning channels today, but the radio had what looked to be a second channel selector under the top lid. There were two small holes, one to see the selected channel to be scanned and the other to select the channel with a small screwdriver. You could then sit on your normal channel, have a QSO and periodically your radio would skip to the selected channel ( say 11 ) to see if any other friends were calling, quite a handy feature when a free channel was hard to find.
